PCE contamination at the Hobart Laundry site in Indiana required remediation at a busy urban intersection where approximately 35% of the impacted area lay beneath active buildings with limited access. Active vapor intrusion concerns, challenging subsurface pneumatic conditions, and the need to minimize disruption to surrounding traffic and businesses required continuous system monitoring and adaptive management.
ET-DSP™ was deployed to treat PCE contamination across the full treatment zone, including areas beneath structures. Continuous system monitoring and operational adjustments maintained efficient extraction and pneumatic control throughout the six-month remediation program.
Greater than 99% PCE contaminant mass reduction was achieved at the Hobart Laundry site in Indiana, significantly exceeding the project’s defined remediation goals. Treatment was successfully completed across the full urban site footprint, including beneath the approximately 35% of the impacted area located under active buildings with limited access. ET-DSP operations were conducted over six months at the busy urban intersection with continuous system monitoring and operational adjustments to maintain efficient extraction and pneumatic control. Active vapor intrusion concerns were addressed throughout the treatment program, and surrounding traffic and business operations experienced minimal disruption.
